IWSOC x Spiideo

Hi everyone,

We've sent a few emails about the IWSOC National Video Exchange, and so far only a small number of teams have scheduled their home games. If that's you, your video isn't going to make it into the exchange, and your opponents may notice.

This email is the short version. Two steps, then you're done.

Questions about the NVE? Visit the enablement library for best practices, video tutorials, and other resources to help you prepare for the upcoming season.

Step 1: Make sure you're added to the Competition

Before you can do anything else, you need access to your competition inside Spiideo Perform.

  1. Click Competitions in the left-hand menu, then the Members tab.

  2. Find your competition (if you haven't joined yet, it will be listed under "Other Leagues").

  3. Click Add Member, search for yourself by name or email, assign your role (Editor if you'll be creating fixtures or managing recordings, Viewer if you only need to watch/download footage), then click Add.

If you don't see your competition at all, contact your Customer Success Manager or Spiideo Support before going further.

Step 2: Schedule your games — the right way for your setup

How you schedule depends on how you're recording. This part is not optional if you have Spiideo cameras.

If you have Spiideo cameras installed

You must create a fixture and schedule every home game in advance. Recordings only make it into the exchange automatically if the game is scheduled — there is no way to add them after the fact for these setups.

  • Watch: How to schedule your home games (2 min)
  • Schedule a buffer of at least 30 minutes before and at least 3 hours of gameplay to ensure the full match is captured.
  • You can always edit the start or end time later if needed using the pencil icon next to your fixture (weather delays, extra time, etc)
  • Before the recording starts, you can edit your fixture details by using the pencil icon next to your fixture.
  • After the recording has started, you can extend the recording by clicking the upside-down clock icon on the fixture line.
  • No bulk import is available, so block off time now to schedule your entire home slate in one sitting. This should take no more than five minutes.
  • Haven't installed your camera yet? Book your installation appointment here — this needs to happen before you can schedule using Spiideo cameras.
  • If your game has started recording and there is a weather delay, you will need to log in to app.spiide.net and extend the recording - this is not to break up the recording into separate recordings. The user who scheduled must be the user who extends.

If you don't have Spiideo cameras and are doing manual upload

You do not schedule fixtures ahead of time. Just record the game on your own and upload the file after the game. You will create New, New Upload, then add the details of the game post-match after the final whistle.

  • Watch: How to manually upload video after your match
  • Upload as soon as possible after the game — the exchange has a turnaround expectation, so best practice to complete right after the game.

One rule that applies to everyone

Exhibitions, scrimmages, and preseason games do not belong in the exchange — don't schedule or upload those.

Still have questions?

  • Visit your enablement library now to access all of these resources and past email communications from our team.
  • Submit your roster: Roster submission form
  • Use the in-app chat widget in the bottom right to contact Support
  • Contact your Customer Success Manager for any other questions

We want every game in the exchange this season. Please don’t wait - we are here to support!
